Gloucestershire Media Group: Before we get started, how do you like your tea?
Nichola Owen: I love tea especially if someone else makes it. Strong with milk and one Canderel please.
GMG: Tell us what White Rabbit Media is all about?
NO: I write house features for national interiors magazines. I was managing editor on Marie Claire, Ideal Home Living etc and Homes and Gardens in London so when I moved to Bristol, writing for them as a freelancer was a natural progression. I then had lots of fantastic pics of local houses and knew photographers who needed locations and it made perfect sense to set the library up. I also ran my home as a location house in London so I knew exactly how it all worked. The company has grown to include location scouting and management. we are about three years old now and steadily making progress.
GMG: How are things going?
NO: Business is steady. I am looking for more people to write about in the interiors features side of my business. My features run over 6 pages or so in the best interiors mags so its great publicity. If there is anyone who would like to see their home on the pages of a mag or want to promote themselves via this sort of article then please get in touch.
I also really need more locations. Contemporary styled homes are a firm favourite with just about everyone right now.
Bristol and Welsh businesses seem to be winning lots of new work right now. So we ve been shooting for Comfort. A national clothing company. Alfa Romeo. Welsh Sport. Cow and Gate. River Monsters. As well as the local TV productions. The South West is really proving it self creatively and giving the Londoners a run for their money. Its great.
GMG: What does the future hold for you?
NO: Hopefully great things with super creative people.
GMG: Is there anything else we should know about? Anything you’d like to plug?
NO: Id like people to “like” my facebook page. I also want to start a newsletter and blog so Id like email addresses of anyone interested in receiving it. Perhaps via my site contact page.
Also I am always looking for more location managers and folks to give work to. Often a request for a location will grow to be a request for a whole team. So the more people I can put forward the better.
