Creator of Intranet Future, Jonathan Pollinger talks to us about helping businesses make the most of social media including use of Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and LinkedIn

Gloucestershire Media Group: Before we get started, how do you like your tea?

Jonathan Pollinger: Milk no sugar please and preferably Kenyan

GMG: So tell us about your business…

JP: Intranet Future inspires businesses to use social media. We help companies increase sales and improve customer services using tools like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Foursquare

GMG: Where did it all begin?

JP: I became interested in the potential of social networks for business when managing an intranet for Vertex, a large global outsourcing company

GMG: How are things going?

JP: I’m now in my second year having spent the first year establishing the business, demonstrating expertise in social media and building credibility. I’m now beginning to see the benefits of those foundations.


GMG: What does the future hold for you and your team?

JP: I work with a web developer and web designer when designing and producing Facebook Pages and Twitter profiles. Longer term it would be great to have these roles as part of the Intranet Future team.


GMG: What do you like best about your job?

JP: Helping businesses become more successful by using social media. For example, last week a client told me that they’d doubled their sales just by using Twitter.

GMG: Is there anything else we should know about? Anything you’d like to plug?

JP: I’ve got a big thing for colourful socks! Seriously, I’d like to mention my regular social media workshops which I run in Cheltenham.
