Cotswolds Photo Library is a professional stock photo library specialising in supplying stock images and photos of the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. The photographs cover a broad range of subjects; from villages, cottages, and architecture to landscapes, farming and local attractions.
The library contains the work of only one photographer, Stephen Dorey ABIPP. Steve has been supplying photographs and stock images to clients since 1985. Recent clients include magazine & book publishers, exhibition designers, Readers Digest, Ordnance Survey as well as local advertising and design companies.
Steve studied photography at the (then) Regent Street Polytechnic between 1968 & 1971 and gained his diploma specialising in architectural photography. In 1975 he became an Associate of the Institute of Incorporated Photographers (now the British Institute of Professional Photography).
He worked for two years as a member of the Post Office Photographic Unit in London before making the move to Gloucestershire in 1974.
Although this meant a cut in salary and two years working as a colour printer Steve has never regretted the step. In 1977 he started working for Gloucestershire County Council, first as a Cotswold Warden and later as a Senior Countryside Officer. He was then promoted to Senior Environmental Planning Officer, promoting sustainability issues and editing the county’s environmental audit, a post from which he has recently retired.
Steve is married to Carolyn, a children’s nurse, and they are blessed with four sons!
