With a Masters in Television Production and a writing background, I am now looking for work as a Production Assistant or Runner.

My Skills Include:

Role: Production Assistant (Freelance)
Responsibilities: Assisting the Production Manager and Director on nine short films for the baby brand Cow and Gate. Main responsibilities included organising the casting days, creating schedules for casting and shoot days, liaising with the contributors via e-mail and telephone, creating call sheets for the shoot. Also responsible for the contributors on shoot days.

Role: Production Assistant (Internship)
Responsibilities: Organising and assisting Producers on shoots, creating production schedules using Microsoft Excel, sourcing and collecting costumes and props, footage searching for mood films, taking lunch orders for office team,
managing expense reports and petty cash, liaising and communicating with different departments, creating cost overview spreadsheets, working effectively within a team of Producers, Creatives and Editors.

Role: Runner
Responsibilities: Runner on a location shoot of three short dramas which were broadcast on the Community Channel in October 2009. Responsible for collecting props and costumes for shoot, Collecting cast and crew’s breakfasts and lunches. Also responsible for cast members in between shots. Communicating/working efficiently and effectively with the
Director, Producer and other crew members to ensure smooth running of the shoot.

Role: Production Assistant (Work Experience)
Responsibilities: To work alongside one of the Producers within a production office and on shoots (mainly for Kew Gardens). My main responsibilities included researching and preparing questions for future interviews, contacting
interviewees (via e-mail and telephone) and preparing them for filming days, assisting the Producer/Director on shoots and conducting the interviews. In preparation for filming days I was also responsible for creating production schedules for the crew. I also edited work on Final Cut Pro.

Role: Runner
Responsibilities: Runner on a follow-up shoot for The Great British Holiday Show. The shoot was centred around the re-launch day of a farm that had been made over. I was responsible for promoting the filming/launch day to the general public in the local area. I was also responsible for ensuring all Under 16 Consent Forms were signed correctly on entry to the farm. I also provided general assistance to the Director, Producer and other Crew members – Collecting lunches for everyone and making tea/coffee.

Role: Researcher (Work Experience)
Responsibilities: Researcher on television programme House Wrecks. Working within a busy production office researching potential properties that could be suitable for the programme. Responsible for following up potential
properties by contacting the owners or architects to speak to them in more detail about their projects. If they were interested I was then responsible for arranging recces and schedules. I also had the responsibility of logging material for
The Hotel Inspector.

Role: Researcher
Responsibilities: I was selected from my Masters course to produce eight, one minute films for the apprentice chef’s graduation in May 2009. Responsible for working alongside the Producer to research the location and the apprentices,
Organising and attending recees and meetings with the marketing team. I developed and prepared interview questions for each apprentice based on their experiences at Fifteen Cornwall. I was responsible for conducting the interviews on the days of filming. On the day of the graduation we were also responsible for filming the ceremony and had the opportunity to interview Jamie Oliver (owner of Fifteen Cornwall)

Role: CBBC Runner (Work Experience)
Responsibilities: I worked within a team of Runners at CBBC Live On Air. I was responsible for buying and collecting props in time for the live studio show. I had to ensure I met end of day deadlines. I was responsible for collecting scripts from the script department and delivering them to the studios. I also had the responsibility to collect presenters and ensure that they got to the studio on time. I also sorted out the post in the morning and ensured it went to the correct people. I worked in collaboration with Producers, Directors and Researchers within a busy production office and within the CBBC studio.
