Key People

Steve Mellor
Writer, Director, Producer
Born in the late 1970s, Steve spent his early life as a child before growing up to a height of 5 ‘ 10”. Whilst at school he wrote for several comedians on the circuit, many of whom have since gone on to have very sucessful careers as accountants and bankers. Such was the severity of Steve’s appauling joke output that he was asked to write for Radio and spent many happy years causing pain and suffering in the name of Light Entertainment. Steve became part of the comedy music duo Full Frontal (an offshoot of an earlier duo, Mr Parrott) where he both delighted and disgusted audiences around Gloucestershire. In 2004 he co-produced a short film called “Tying the Tie”, a silent (slapstick) comedy about two people getting ready for a night out. The film was all shot in one take using a home made steady cam and a DV camcorder. It won some acclaim within the artistic community in Cheltenham and Narx Films was asked to work on a project with the Guardians of Independence. “Stalking the Stalker” was again produced in 2004 and Steve was made the films director of photography (as well as editing it with his then comedy partner Murray Anderws). “Stalking the Stalker” was a mockumentary that follows a stalker though his daily life. From his favourites to the weirdest things you’ll ever see. A mixture of the sublime world of a fanatic, stalk a stalker without him knowing. A comical interpretation of what a stalker sees and does. When filming and editing was complete it made the journey to the Cannes Film Festival where it appeared amongst other british indipendant films. In 2009 Steve took part in a local film project which once again sparked his interest in creating films himself. That is where the Ministry project (and Burnt Papyrus Productions) began.
Joe Kelly
Musician, Exdec-Producer, Creative Dogsbody
Master musician, builder and prime prop purchaser Joe is the props master as well as Steve's right hand man and exec-producer.

The Ministry

The fantasy/drama ‘The Ministry’ depicts a world that is about to witness the rebirth of Magic and the ancient powers that have combined to prevent that from happening. In the middle of this is the very real story of those effected by the rebirth and terrorised by the power at the center of it all; the shadowy organisation known only as ‘The Ministry’.
