UK Based and award winning producers, David Pearson and Elizabeth Morgan Hemlock run Arturi Films, “making stories that travel” and which engage worldwide audiences in emotional experiences and debate.
We make feature films, television drama and documentaries, and occasionally commercials and corporate films. We have organised large scale events and training.
The company has co-production experience and concentrates on commercial films from writers and directors with distinctive voices. With offices in South Wales and Gloucestershire, the company developed, produced and launched the hugely successful International Screenwriter’s Festival in Cheltenham UK in 2006. David and Elizabeth were founding Board members of the festival and David was Festival Director until 2009. The festival attracted Oscar and BAFTA winning talent, with some 500-600 delegates; writers, producer and directors etc attending each year.
Our feature film ‘Mugabe and the White African’ was released theatrically in the UK in January 2010, and in the USA and France and originally premiered at the London Film Festival 2009, winning the BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in December 2009 and a Grierson Award and Prix Italia Award in 2010. David and Elizabeth, alongside their two directors were nominated for a BAFTA for the 2010 awards and the film was shortlisted for an Oscar nomination in 2010. After a successful theatrical run including 10 weeks in London’s Empire West End it more than doubled the typical audience for C4’s More 4 on its TV premiere in May 2010. The film was released in the USA and France in 2010.
The company also has a slate of feature films including Hollow Point written by Richard Parry (South West 9; Blood Trail) which Elizabeth is co-producing with Michael Wearing (Producer of ‘Edge of Darkness’ starring Mel Gibson released February 2010 worldwide) with David as Executive Producer, to shoot summer 2011; One Arm Bandit written by Martin Stellman and Brian Ward The Interpreter; Death Defying Acts with Brian as Director; Ten Pence Solution a family film written and directed by Terry Loane Micky Bo & Me; a co-production with Silo Productions, Montreal and Zanzibar Films, Dublin and The Hum by Isabelle Raynauld and David Pearson, a co-production which Elizabeth and David are co-producing with leading Canadian producer, Pierre Even( CRAZY) and his partner in Item 7, Marie-Claude Poulin, in Montreal.

David is an award winning producer, writer and director; who also has 18 years experience as a Television Executive, successfully managing hundreds of productions for the BBC, ITV and others. BAFTA Nominated 2010, won Grierson, Prix Italia, and RTS Awards for Mugabe and the Whiet African which he produced with colleague Elizabeth Morgan Hemlock. Won BIFA (British Independent Film Award ) in 2009. Oscar shortlisted in 2009. In 2010 he directed Fishermen's Friends for ITV about a boy band with a combined age of 560! TX later in 2011. He commissioned the BBC’s Under The Sun strand, which included What Sort Of Gentleman Are You After, The Hunt, & Kun Fu Business, and has extensive co production experience including: Australia, France, USA, Canada, and Holland. David was a founding director of the Gloucestershire Media Group, a committee member of the Sheffield Documentary Festival, and founded the Screenwriter’s Festival. He writes screenplays including, The Hum, with Isabelle Raynauld. He successfully attended the European Film Business School. David has directed more than thirty full length television documentaries (many award winners including: BAFTA, Prix Italia, Grierson, FIPA, Prix Nicki etc) and Executive Produced in a number of genres, including new directors short film scheme 10x10, history and including Comic Relief. He was nominated for the Prix Italia for Whose House Is it Anyway, twice nominated for the Grierson Award and BAFTA, and once for the Prix Nicki. He has won an RTS Award, FIPA, the Glenfiddich Award, and been commended at the Prix Europa, etc. - Elizabeth Morgan Hemlock

Elizabeth is an award winning and Bafta nominated Producer and co-managing director of Arturi Films and having originally trained as a dancer, began her career at Working Title Films (A World Apart; Bridget Jones’ Diary) and went on to be a Casting Asst. at The Royal Court Theatre, before spending over ten years as a leading Talent Agent in London. Elizabeth Exec Produced a pilot for a Si-Fi TV Series for Flextech and produced multi award winning short film ‘Journey Man’ directed by Dictynna Hood, which she distributed in UK cinema’s screening in front of Bafta winning films, Stephen Frears’ ‘Dirty Pretty Things’ and Michael Winterbottom’s ‘In This World’ for eight months. She also developed a successful education pack, based on the film, in conjunction with the UK Refugee Council, through which the schools pack was sold. After a short period with leading industry trainer, MediaXchange, she joined film financing and sales outfit, MHFTV, financing, selling and launching independent Hollywood movies with budgets of between US$8-25M at the international film markets. Wild Films was established as a development company through which she could discover new writing and directing talent, and having now joined with Arturi Films in 2005, is managing, developing and expanding their slate of feature films. She is also a founding Board Member of the International Screenwriters’ Festival, which she co-produced for four years alongside David Pearson, as Festival Director. Elizabeth co-produced award winning feature documentary, ‘Mugabe and the White African’ with David Pearson driving the financing, sales and distribution of the film. Elizabeth was also the Line Producer, Post Production Supervisor and responsible for all legal work and delivery of the film. She has a B.A. (Hons) graduate in Performing Arts, with a diploma from the MEDIA Film Business School, and is an EAVE, Berlinale Talent Campus and The Production Line graduate. She sat on a number of committees within Women in Film & Television and was chosen to participate in their first ever professional mentoring programme; is widely travelled and regularly attends the major film markets. Industry vocational courses include (EP) Moviemagic Budgeting & Scheduling (NFTS); Budgeting & Cost Control for Drama (NFTS); Documentary Production Management (PACT); Dov S-Simens Film School/Movie Financing; Entrepreneur Action Training (Welsh Assembly Government); EAVE; MEDIA Film Business School and Arista. Elizabeth is a primary school Governor and a member of PACT and BAFTA.
