Chris Garrett

Creative Director
Chris founded Abstraktion in 2010, after gaining a wealth of experience working with household brands like the BBC and CNET. After starting his first company at just 16, Chris sold CGMedia in 2009, going on to co-found Bexmedia, a video production studio known for working with the likes of BUPA and The Sun. When Chris later sold his shares in Bexmedia, he became one of the founders and Creative Director of Abstraktion, responsible for design output across the company. Working across Information Architecture, UI Design and Branding, Chris fuses youthful creativity with a rare commercial drive and a high level of technical knowledge, enabling him to create beautiful work which helps a wide range of companies realise their business objectives.

Rachel Carney

Account Manager
When the rest of Abstraktion have their heads down, designing and developing exceptional work, Rachel’s the one who keeps everything in order and moving along without friction. With experience of dealing with big direct marketing and digital campaigns for brands like Toshiba, Walkers and The National Lottery, Rachel forms an essential part of the Abstraktion workflow. Having been involved with web projects since the late 90’s, Rachel is highly adept at managing both designers and developers. Her everyday role encompasses everything from liaising with clients, to wireframing and specification planning, to scheduling development resource. Rachel’s also incredibly active in the ideation stage of our projects, helping to define and develop new concepts and campaigns, and also plays an active role in data collection and analysis for our user centred projects.

Andy Pearson

Senior Developer
A young talent, Andy joined Abstraktion to make use of his natural ability to structure and architect complex web applications. With a background of building powerful CMS and eCommerce solutions at a range of large agencies, Andy fits right in at Abstraktion. Working as Senior Developer, Andy leads the majority of our technical projects with experience far beyond his years and a natural aptitude for building maintainable, cutting-edge, scalable platforms. Adept in a range of languages and frameworks, Andy favours a Behaviour Driven Design approach to projects and loves working with Rails.

Joel Sudworth

Production Manager
Having worked in a wide range of technical roles for more than 15 years, Joel has an exceptional understanding of technology projects. From his early days as a Flash application developer, Joel has moved from managing and building Kiosk based interfaces to complex software and cutting-edge web projects, picking up an unmatched depth of experience in managing technical projects. As Production Manager at Abstraktion, Joel oversees the production and development of our projects, ensuring our output is of the highest standard and scheduled accordingly. Joel works in an adaptive manner, you’ll often find him switching from producing Gantt charts and technical schedules, to developing project specifications, managing client expectations or even occasionally getting hands on with some content production.
