What is it about?
These sessions will be tutored by practicing photographer and artist Kel Portman, who has a depth of experience in tutoring on this software. A rare opportunity for existing Photoshop users to brush up your skills and learn new techniques, in this series of practical hands-on sessions. This short course leads to a professional qualification in digital image manipulation.

This training covers:

  • Enhancing and manipulation – including tone & colour management, realistic and surreal manipulation, retouching, applying special effects and text, layers, colour replacement
  • Image acquisition – suitability of various file formats
  • Output techniques –printing surfaces, dye sublimation, CD/DVD, website, presentation options

Who is it for?
This course is for you if:

  • You are already using Photoshop for basic image manipulation, either for web, print, or other new media applications, and wish to enhance your skills.
  • You are mostly self-taught and would like access to professional knowledge on how to get the best and consistent results from this software.
  • You have used Photoshop for a number of years and would like to refresh yourself on the ‘best practice’ approach.

What will I get out of it?
At the end of the training participants will:

  • Be comfortable with using key Photoshop tools
  • Understand the quality issues when selecting an image
  • Be confident in the best techniques to apply to get the desired result
  • Know and apply the appropriate skills for output for print, disc, web or presentation products
