DESCRIPTION:Edwina’s first exhibition at WORKS|PROJECTS, will feature sculptures that give permanent form to the distinctive physical vocabulary found in the costumes and props of her films and performances. The gallery installation will feature peculiar limbless creatures with sink plunger proboscises wearing Roman gladiator helmets or old ladies’ lacey capes lolling about on wooden box plinths and new drawings that bring a world of solar power motor cars that make sense for you, dandified insects prepared for anything, misshapen people bring unidentified other dindins and formless creatures who are new unusual and ready to go, Ashton creates a world that is both delicate and demented in equal measure.
