This high-profile networking event organised by South West business magazine Insider, will take place on Wednesday, 27th January 2010 at the Cheltenham Racecourse. Registration and breakfast will be at 7.30am with the meeting commencing at 8.00am. You can then stay behind for some more networking.

There will be an exclusive panel and audience debate that brings together senior figures from the public and private sectors to discuss Gloucestershire’s economy, its redevelopment and future prospects.

This important event will give a platform to some of the area’s key players for what promises to be a wide-ranging debate that takes stock of the county’s economy and looks at the business landscape from every side.

The top-class panel will include:

David Owen, chief executive, Gloucestershire First
John Workman, senior partner, BPE Solicitors LLP
John Cripps, managing director, Gloucestershire Chambers of Commerce
Diane Savory, founder, Cult Clothing

Issues likely to get an airing include:

• Gloucestershire’s natural assets, and whether enough is being done to raise the profile of the county and attract new businesses and investment.
• Whether adequate efforts are being made to diversify the economic base and provide a climate for innovation and growth.
• Job creation and the local skills agenda. Are there examples of best practice out there where jobs have been created that can be filled by local people?
• The main regeneration schemes that are underway or planned, and what the prospects are for pressing ahead. Also what lessons can be learned from past regeneration projects.
• How the various public sector agencies should work together and with the private sector to promote investment in Gloucestershire.
