The GMG is committed to providing access to thegmg.org for all users.
This page describes the key accessibility features used on thegmg.org to help those users who may wish to take advantage of them.
Technical Accessibility:
To ensure the best possible experience for users of a wide range of browsing software, thegmg.org is developed to conform with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 1.0 (WCAG 1.0)
Access Keys:
The following keyboard navigation shortcuts have been implemented throughout the site. Press ALT (PC) or CONTROL (Mac) and:
- - 1 for thegmg.org homepage;
- - 2 to skip to the main content of each page;
- - 3 for the site map;
- - 4 for the help section (opens in a new window);
- - 5 for text only version;
- - 6 for main menu;
- - 7 to jump to the top of each page;
- - 8 for the contact us page;
- - 9 for thegmg.org accessibility page (this page).
"Skip to content" Access Key:
Each page of the site includes a link that enables users of browsers such as screen readers to jump directly to the main content of that page. This link has the access key 2 assigned to it and is the first item on the page, but may be hidden in some browsers.
Text Size and Style:
Users may customise their browser settings to make changes to the site appearance to suit their needs. This may include text sizes, text colour and background colour. Thegmg.org is designed and built to accommodate these settings while still displaying its content effectively.
Site Map and Help:
To help users navigate thegmg.org there is a site map (access key 3) and to assist them in getting the most from thegmg.org, there is a help window on every page (access key 4).
