Jan Connett will be exhibiting in the Guildhall Gallery throughout October. She is predominantly a textile artist and enameller, making one-off sculptures and pieces to hang on the wall. Her work explores women’s journeys through life, their self-images and the representations of themselves that they choose to project to the world.

Jan uses a mixture of media and methods, borrowing stitch techniques when joining metals and applying paint techniques to fabrics in order to create cohesive compositions that she hopes will resonate with viewers. Jan wants people to enjoy these pieces, but to be surprised by them, and to question their understanding of the choices they make in their lives.

There will be cards and books from the artist available for sale alongside the exhibition.
