Cheltenham company organises UK’s first Google+ training

Cheltenham company Intranet Future is organising what it believes is the first ever UK training course on new social network Google+. The three hour session in October aims to give business people the skills, knowledge and tools to use Google+ to increase sales and improve customer service.
A key advantage of using Google+ over other social media networks is that it will enhance a company’s profile on Google search page results. It will also enable them to reach people who use Google tools for their online activity, and hence most businesses are likely to add Google+ to their social media strategy alongside LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
The demand for the course was highlighted when the first booking came through just ten minutes after it was announced online.
Google+ launched on 28 June and was initially described by Google as a project, with participation by invitation only. However, it attracted more than 20 million users in its first month alone, a level of growth which took Facebook three years and Twitter 30 months. Google+ integrates existing social services like Gmail, Google Profiles and Google Buzz and introduces new features called Circles, Hangouts, Sparks, and Huddles, with profiles for businesses expected to follow in October.
“I’m really looking forward to learning more about Google+ and how it can benefit my business,” said Charlie Markwick of Southcot Services. “I’ve completed two workshops with Jonathan, on Twitter and LinkedIn, which were both first class and packed full of ideas and practical tips.”
“Google+ is an exciting new social network which provides a fantastic opportunity for businesses to engage their clients,” added Jonathan Pollinger of Intranet Future. “I look forward to showing business people how they and their clients can benefit from Google+.”
