The Commissioners Panel… Coming soon!
We are holding our next GMG Creative Industries Event in Gloucester on Wednesday, March 16th at Alexandra Warehouse. The Commissioners Panel is a unique opportunity to meet, discuss, and share the experiences and counsel of a panel of luminaries in the field of commissioning broadcast television and multi-platform programming.
Our prestigious panel of commissioners will include: Sarah Muller, BBC Television’s Head of CBBC Acquisitions and Drama Development and Solomon Nwabueze, Consultant Acquisitions Executive, Paper Plane Media. Additional panelists will be announced shortly.
Since joining the BBC in 2007 Sarah has commissioned numerous projects such as “Just William”, “Dr Who – Dreamland", “My Almost Famous Family”, and “Tracey Beaker”. As an independent producer with Elephant Productions her credits include multi-award winning ratings success “Grizzly Tales For Gruesome Kids” (CITV), which accomplished winner of best children’s series at the children’s choice awards, the series was also nominated for Best Animated Series and Best Original Writer at BAFTA.
Solomon is one of the UK’s most respected entertainment acquisitions executives. He has a 20+ year track record of developing programming opportunities and spotting new markets and formats for innovative creative visual content. A graduate of the BBC production trainee scheme he has held senior posts with Warner Vision, Polygram Filmed Entertainment, Sony Music, & BMG Entertainment. Solomon’s landmark Video/DVD acquisitions include global blockbusters “South Park”, “Sex and The City”, and “The Sopranos”, concert films including Dido & Westlife, as well the twin torchbearers of the UK’s reality television explosion – “Changing Rooms” and “Ground Force”. He is currently an acquisitions consultant with Fremantle Media.
Meeting at 5:30pm for drinks, nibbles & networking with other members, the panel discussion will start at around 6pm.
