No Description This online competition invites filmmakers to create a short film, centred on the theme, ‘Mondays’. Entries must aim to impress the panel and demonstrate fresh thinking with new and creative ideas.

The judging panel for the 2011 competition comprises:

  • Joe Bateman, Festival Director of the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
  • Elliot Grove, Founder Raindance Film Festival and British Independent Film Awards
  • James Mullighan, Director, Edinburgh International Film Festival
  • David Pupkewitz, Producer and Founder of Focus Films Ltd
  • Oscar Sharp, Director and winner of the reed.co.uk Short Film Competition 2010
  • Mary Wear, Award-winning copywriter and advertising expert
  • Paul Weiland, Director and Founder of Contagious Content Ltd

The Grand Prix winner will be awarded £10,000, with further prizes of £1,000 to be awarded to additional category winners, including the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and the ‘Best Animation

The competition asks filmmakers to submit an original idea around the theme of ‘Mondays’. Rhodes explains:
“Throughout the economic downturn, reed.co.uk has continued to promote positivity around the jobs market. Our Love Mondays advertising campaign has been encouraging the nation to feel good about the start of a new week and now we want people to tell us what Mondays mean to them in a short film.”
