There is a hint of Autumn in the air; GMG members are returning from well deserved holidays, or maybe breathing (a slightly guilty) sigh of relief that the school year has started.

For the GMG staff, this is the time of year we turn our attention to what we can offer our members over the coming months.

First Masterclass
In the meantime, hot off the press are some details of our first Masterclass of the series, with Location Management expert Fiona Francombe.

About Fiona
Fiona has had a long and productive career in the industry, starting with the BBC in London. She came to the South West as the BBC’s Location Manager for Casualty. Since then she has had 14 successful years as a freelance Location Manager for the region working out of her base in Bristol.

As well as numerous episodes of Casualty, Fiona’s credits also include, I Saw You, Bertie & Elizabeth, Teachers 1, Servants, Afterlife 1 & 2, Persuasion and the BBC series Lark Rise to Candleford which is filmed entirely in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

Having spent over 17 years in the television, Fiona joined South West Screen as Filming and Locations Co-ordinator in August 2007. She was promoted to Production Services Manager in January 2009.

Where and When
Fiona will be joining us for an evening Masterclass in Cheltenham on the Wednesday 27th October. This will be a great opportunity to hear the do’s and don’ts of location sourcing and management from a true expert, and a chance to get answers to all your location related conundrums.

Price
Places for the Masterclass will be at our usual subsidised price of £10, and will include refreshments.
