No Description Are you a talented animator? Then we need you? We want you to create an attention grabbing animation for this year’s Museums at Night which will encourage people to visit www.culture24.org.uk/museumsatnight and find an event that appeals to them.

We want you to produce a short animation (any technique, any style) to promote this national campaign which encourages museums and galleries to open late and stage unusual events. Happening over the weekend 14-16th May 2010, the event ties in with the European event of the same name (La Nuit des Musées) and is a chance to enjoy a great night out and do something different.

There is a staggering range of events on offer – everything from Beer and Skittles – Cheese and Pickles at Bakewell Old House Museum to Sculpture Remixed, a silent disco and dance floor in the Sculpture Gallery at TATE Liverpool. There are events to appeal to all ages from sleepovers, ghost hunts and torchlight tours to arty culture crawls, illuminations and pop up bars.

Your animation can communicate the general concept or it can focus on a specific aspect or activity. Whatever you create, it should be humorous and fun, excite interest and inspire people to take part. Check out last year’s animations for inspiration.

The animations will be posted on YouTube and the winning animation will be turned into an advert for use on Culture24 and other relevant websites – oh, and did we mention that you’ll win £1,000?

The competition is being run by Culture24 and Kanoti and the closing date is 5pm on Wednesday 31st March 2010. All details can be found here.
