No Description The Skillset TV Freelance Fund is the result of an agreement between UK broadcasters and the Indie Training Fund (ITF) to invest in training for the television workforce.

The contributors are: BBC, Channel 4, Five, cable and satellite companies, and the ITF via contributions from member companies. These funds are invested in training and development activities that will benefit the UK television industry.

Skillset undertakes an extensive research programme and consultation with industry to identify where there’s current and future skills needs and prioritises funding for training in these areas. You can be sure that courses supported by the Fund meets the requirements of the TV industry, as well as benefiting your own career.

So you must be asking yourself what bursaries are available to me? Well here they are…..

Management and Leadership Bursaries

What courses?
The bursaries can be used to access a growing range of courses from specialist training providers, ranging from Drama Production Management, to mentoring and coaching sessions on a one-to-one basis, to Head of Production training, to Dealing with Difficult People.
Who can apply?
Anyone in the TV industry who works in, or is moving into, a management or leadership role. Further details on eligibility criteria are on the Skillset website.
How much?
Grants of up to £1,000 are available for freelancers and £625 for company employees.

Multiplatform Bursaries

What courses?
Bursaries fund a pre-selected range of courses covering key multiplatform skills the industry is looking for in its workforce. New courses are added on an ongoing basis throughout the year with a wide range of skills areas covered. The scheme should have training to suit most people working in the industry on cross-platform projects.

How much?
