No Description Stroud based Arturi Film’s feature film Mugabe and The White African, goes from strength to strength. Last week the film which aired on More 4’s True Stories strand, following its UK theatrical release, has just won another award, the European Prix Italia Special Prize Signis Award for the best television programme which best promotes Human Values in Turin, Italy.

Arturi’s film, which is currently on DVD release in the UK, theatrical release in the US and will be released in cinemas in France, in November, has also just been nominated for the prestigious Grierson Award for Best Theatrical Documentary. The awards will take place at the NFT on the Southbank on November 2nd.

The film has already won several awards including the prestigious BIFA Award (British Independent Film Award), with David and Elizabeth, and the directors Andrew Thompson and Lucy Bailey being nominated for the film BAFTA Awards, earlier this year for ‘Outstanding Debut by Writer, Director, Producer’ and they were also shortlisted for the Oscar nomination for this year’s Academy Awards.
