No Description The GMG teamed up with Glosmedia to host a networking event for creative companies to meet with potential new clients at the Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham on Thursday, 16 July. The evening was very well attended with some 50-60 individuals. Ian Mean, Editor-in-Chief for Glosmedia opened the evening bigging up Gloucestershire as a great place to live and work particularly for people working in the Creative Industries. Anna Krenkova, Director of the GMG held a short talk about the sector size, and growth (did you know that Creative Industries are growing twice as quickly as any other sector in the South West?) as well as stressing the importance of organisations such as the GMG – creative networks that enable people to connect and collaborate. The GMG Accelerator also received a special mention together with the big GMG ‘Village Fayre’ taking place on 18 September that will allow Gloucestershire based creative companies to directly connect with new potential clients from a variety of businesses from around Gloucestershire. Jill Douglas, associate of Dair Ltd as well as a well-known sports presenter for the BBC (previously sky sports) introduced Dair and their impressive portfolio of works with a short film. After the presentations, guests indulged in some gorgeous Hotel du Vin food and a few glasses of wine. This is not the end…keep your eyes peeled on the local paper and this Friday’s creative supplement that will embrace the sector and give it the credit it deserves. And finally, don’t miss out on the GMG ’Village fayre’ – if you only ever attend one GMG event per year than this is the one! More to follow….
