Wychwood Festival
This year not only are Wychwood hosting a fantastic line-up of music artists, comedians, workshops, healing gardens, silent disco’s, childrens Literature festivals (I could go on…) … but on top of all this, they are hosting an outdoor cinema (and you GMG’ers know how much we love film)!
The cinema offers the chance to catch a surreal short film or broaden your mind whilst relaxing in a welcome moment of shade. The quirky and unusual films being screened are very different from what you can expect at more mainstream cinemas!
Wychwood have a very special speaker at the cinema this year, Tony Palmer. Tony is famous for his 7 hour 45 minutes film on Wagner, starring Richard Burton, Laurence Olivier and Vanessa Redgrave. It was described by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the most beautiful films ever made”. Among over 40 international prizes for his work are 12 Gold Medals at the New York Film & Television Festival, as well as numerous BAFTA and EMMY nominations and awards. He is the only person to have won the Prix Italia twice.
Tony will be introducing the Beatles episode of All You Need is Love on Saturday 30th May at 5pm (along with a viewing of films selected by the director with a Question and Answer Session).
Tickets are still available. You can call in advance to reserve yours on 01993 772580. Alternatively you can turn up on the day and buy your tickets though the onsite Box Office which will be open from 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wychwood look forward to welcoming you to the festival this weekend!
