Mediabox has teamed up with BAFTA and Rolling Sound to offer you the opportunity to create your own video game, with the support of industry experts. Selected entrants will be invited to an all expenses paid video games workshop in London where video games experts will provide you with all the skills and resources you need to develop your ideas into a game. This is a great chance to learn new skills like 3D animation, modelling and game design.

TO APPLY
We want you to write a paragraph (no more than 400 words) about what you’d like to make a game about. Have a think about what you’d like your game to be called, the story and who your main characters are, alongside the purpose of playing the game and why people would enjoy it. We want you to think of an idea for a game that you really care about, really want to make, and would really want to play yourself. Let your imagination run wild. Don’t worry if you’ve never made a video game before, this is your chance to learn new skills and try something new.

DEADLINE
The deadline for entries is 16th October 2009.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
If you’re short-listed, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and you’ll be invited to an all expenses paid video games design workshop in London, which will take place over four consecutive days in October half-term Monday 26th – Thursday 29th October 2009, 1.00 – 7.00pm. If you are under 18 then you need to make sure a parent, guardian or other adult is available to attend this workshop with you.
